- Basic colour of dorsum orange, mostly with 4-10 black rings, bordered in white, each with a central orange or white tubercles. Considerable variation in pattern of individuals; instead of forming rings, black areas can also expand and meander across the dorsum. Foot, gills and oral tentacles grey. Number of lamellae on each rhinophoral clavus 27-30 (specimens larger than 40 mm). Common species throughout the tropical Indo-Pacific. - Phyllidia ocellata Cuvier, 1804
